The basic purposes of teaching of medicine

  • Formation at students of medical thinking bases, mastering of a complex of universal medical laws,
  • Gaining experience in the analysis of situations and occurring changes both in the organism of the person, and in public health services as a whole;
  • Development of ability to make the argued judgments concerning medical questions instead of subjective emotional approaches;
  • Gaining skills of making the responsible independent decisions in conditions of obviously limited information;
  • Gaining skills to acquire knowledge independently;
  • Gaining experience to plan knowingly the ways of the further education and to determine area of application of the opportunities;

Taking into account the marked purposes of a subject we determine optimal sequence of studying of the separate questions composing the integrity of a separate theme in a context of research and experimental work.

Authors developed the control of medical knowledge, methods, which forms make essence and basis of monitoring of students medical training. The essence of these methods consists in creation of objective and adequate measuring instruments for check of teaching results (recognition - comprehension - application). Application of knowledge in practice is possible only at ability of the student to analyze and synthesize the received knowledge on the basis of creative processing the information.

Practical approbation of new pedagogical technology "KRYM•MED•DIDACTIC" has shown accuracy of used methods in determination of a progress level of each student in development of medical knowledge and skills, and achievement of the main purpose: to be able to apply everything in practice.

The educational purposes have been formulated within the framework of the uniform curriculum and according to the «Regulations about organization of educational process in higher educational institutions of Ukraine».

Necessary element of monitoring was the development of system of the controlling methods shown in the following table.

The monitoring system provides continuous supervising actions in the system "teacher - student ", allowing to observe progress of the student from ignorance to knowledge. And if during the control and testing students make mistakes it is relevant to create and develop the corrective techniques. Corrective technique includes repeated trainings on simulators, computers, and separate consultations of the teacher, additional tasks (reading of material from lectures, textbook, etc.), with repeated testing or the accomplishment of similar tasks for mastering of the given information module.

Keeping such tables has created an opportunity to achieve maximum objectivity in estimations of students’ knowledge, what became very important both for the teacher, and for students. Certainly the only official document in which successes of teaching of students are fixed is the class register book where the final grades received during monitoring are transferred.
